Begin the Conversation

Two ways to begin: a free ten-minute call, or a Strategy Session. Both land directly with Attorney Levine. Sessions are requested, not booked; you hear back with a time.

The Free Call

Free Ten-Minute Call

$0 · 10 minutes · Direct with Attorney Levine.

Every call begins the same way, with one question: how can I help you? The free call is ten minutes with Scott Levine, at no charge, for anyone with a family law question. Not everyone can afford a full consultation, and ten minutes is often enough to give you real information and tell you where you stand. Nothing is sent or reviewed in advance. At ten minutes you will know what the next step is and what it costs. One free call per matter.

Scheduled as time allows, often the same day.

Strategy Session

Strategy Session

$400 · One hour · Phone or video, direct with Attorney Levine.

The session is the work. You bring the complaint, the order, the MSA, the support figures, or the question you have not been able to get answered, and you leave with the analysis done: the figure calculated, the document reviewed, the filing understood, and a plan to respond. We answer your questions and often reframe them, because most people have never been through this and do not yet know what they should be asking. The advice is drawn from more than two decades of practice and is specific to Allegheny County.

How it works: send the request below. Attorney Levine replies with a time, usually within a business day and often sooner for time-sensitive matters, and you pay through LawPay once the time is set. Attorney Levine is often in court; sessions are scheduled at his convenience and confirmed by you, and existing clients with active matters come first. A conflict check is run first; if it prevents the session, nothing is owed. Booking a session does not retain the firm. Whether we go further is decided afterward, by both of us.

A half-hour session at $250 is available when the full hour is not needed.

Free First Step

For anyone who wants to write the firm first: to request the free call, ask a question, or send figures from one of the free tools for review (the tools themselves send nothing to the firm). Six fields, sixty seconds. Every submission is read by Attorney Levine, and most people hear back the same day. If the matter is urgent, say so and it moves up.

No opposing party information is needed at this stage. A conflict check is run before any paid session is scheduled.

Paid Session Booking

Tell us what is going on and when you want to talk. Everything below is confidential and does one job: it lets Attorney Levine prepare before the call, so your paid time is spent on answers instead of intake.

A confidential conflict check protects you and runs before every session. Providing the other party’s name now means the check is done before your call rather than delaying it, which is how a session gets scheduled the same day.

Two minutes here saves paid minutes there. Knowing the shape of the estate in advance means the session starts at the analysis rather than the inventory.

Fee: $400 for the hour, $250 for the half hour. Submit the request; Attorney Levine replies with a time, runs a conflict check, and you pay through LawPay once the time is confirmed. If a conflict prevents the session, nothing is owed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About the Process

Can I bring documents to a paid session?
Yes. If a complaint, custody order, MSA, or correspondence is central to the matter, send it when you schedule so it is on hand. Documents are reviewed with you during the session, by screen share or PDF exchange, on the clock. Nothing is reviewed in advance.
Are sessions in person, by phone, or by video?
Phone or video. Office meetings at the Bakery Square location are reserved for retained clients.
My matter is in Westmoreland (or another surrounding county). Can you help?
For paid consultation, document review, and second-opinion services, yes, on the same structure as Allegheny County matters. For court representation outside Allegheny County, no; the firm's court practice is exclusively Allegheny County. During a consultation, Scott can help identify the right local family law attorney for matters that need court representation elsewhere.
What if my matter is urgent?
Indicate urgency in the Quick Contact form or on the free call. Active PFAs and other time-sensitive matters go to the front of the line.
What happens if there is a conflict?
If the conflict check prevents the session, the fee is returned in full. We cannot say why, and you should not read anything into it; a conflict means only that the office has a duty to someone else.
What if I miss my session?
Sessions are scheduled at the attorney's convenience and confirmed by you. A session missed without notice is not rebooked; the fee is returned in full, and the time is offered to someone else.
What if I have several related matters?
One hour usually covers a single matter. If you have several separate but related matters, we say so on the call and arrange a longer first session, or a second meeting at the same rate, as the calendar allows.

Ready to start?

If you know which session you need, the contact form will route you. If you are not sure, the free ten-minute call is the right first step.
